Eiffel Tower

Did you know that when the Statue of Liberty’s internal designer unexpectedly died in 1879, Bartholdi hired Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel. Eiffel designed a 92-foot-tall central pylon to be the primary support structure of the statue’s interior. But Eiffel would become better known in 1889 for the Paris tower that bears his name.
